Hollow Knight: 112% Complete Checklist

Getting 100% completion in any game is no easy feat. And that goes for double with Hollow Knight, as you’ll actually have to get 112% when you factor in all the DLC content! And I can assure you, this is going to test everything you’ve got as a Hollow Knight player.

Of course, if you’re coming here from beating Hollow Knight: Silksong, you might not have as much trouble, as that game is almost certainly more tricky. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t still have to put in a few good, long sessions to get this done. While the Pantheons may be the most challenging aspect to tackle here, collecting is going to wear you out, too!

Every item detailed below is worth 1% apart from the equipment pieces, which are each worth 2%. But enough babbling, let’s get into the checklist so you can finally complete Hollow Knight for good!

Charms (36%)

Let’s start with the most weighty section, shall we? Charms take up a massive amount of the total completion percentage of Hollow Knight. There are so many of these to collect, many of which are hidden in the darkest and most hidden corners of the game, and some only from completing far larger tasks.

There are, in fact, more charms to be found in the DLC, but they will be included in a later section.

Not every single boss in Hollow Knight has a percentage tied to it. The smaller bosses that you might have missed accidentally, like Flukemarm, aren’t essential. However, if you wish to get the Flukenest charm, you don’t have a choice in the matter. Either way, it makes sense to defeat everything and unlock as much of the map as possible.

And speaking of bosses, let’s stay on topic, shall we? Of course, you’ve probably faced off against a few of the Warrior Dream enemies accessed with the use of the Dreamnail. Well, naturally, each of these has a percentage point tied to it, too.

What’s good is that you’ll get a nice, healthy essence reward for beating these bosses, which is necessary for more of our completion goals later on!

But of course, what are we able to do with all that essence that we’ve acquired? Well, in fact, there are 3 more percentage points tied to the amount of essence you’ve accrued.

As I said before, you can get essence from defeating the Warrior Dreams, but also Dream Bosses, which feature more difficult versions of previous bosses you’ve fought in the past. You can also get more essence from whispering roots found around Hallownest.

Of course, you’ll need to beat every trial and defeat the God Tamer at the end to earn the achievement and get each percentage point.

Equipment (14%)

Hollow Knight Equipment

Alright, that’s enough of crushing bugs for now. Let’s take a look at our arsenal and every item that we need to obtain. Equipment can be found all around Hallownest and acts as permanent upgrades to the knight.

Whether this is movement-enhancing skills or just something that allows you to traverse new areas, like resistance to acid, the equipment is integral to your progression, and thus carries a heavier percentage of 2% per piece.

As you journey through Hallownest, enemies get stronger and stronger, so it’s only natural that you’ll have to hone your weapon to take on these deadly threats.

Not only can you use the pale ore that you find to sharpen your Nail, but you can also learn new skills from the Nail Masters to improve your prowess in combat. Once you’ve gotten all of these upgrades, you’ll be ready to take on the toughest of foes in the Pantheon.

However, there are plenty of other ways of dealing damage; in fact, some of the most powerful builds rely on you using Soul to damage your enemies instead of your trusty nail. These spells, when upgraded, can do pretty significant damage when used properly. And, naturally, if you add the correct charms into the mix, you can become an extremely powerful Soul Sorcerer.

There are 3 main spells to unlock, and 1 upgrade for each.

Hollow Knight Mask Shards

Of course, if you really do plan on taking on the Pantheons, you’d better be in tip-top form. That means having the maximum amount of health so you can last longer in those gruelling gauntlets, and more Soul for those all-important spells.

You will need a total of 4 Mask Shards for each new full mask added to your health, for a total of 4 extra masks and 16 shards. The Vessel Fragments, however, only require you to gather 3 for a new upgrade, for a total of 3 Soul slots and 9 fragments.

DLC Content (12%)

The Grimm Troupe (6%)

Hollow Knight Grimm Tent

While this isn’t actually the first DLC pack (that would be Hidden Dreams), this is the one that has essential percentage content within.

The Grimm Troupe can be accessed by lighting the lantern found in the Howling Cliffs, west of Dirtmouth. Upon your next visit to the main hub, you will find the troupe’s tents and a few interesting NPCs to speak with.

To fully complete this section, you’ll need to collect and upgrade all the new charms as well as defeat Grimm and his more powerful variant, Nightmare King Grimm.

You can instead complete the Banishment achievement, which gives you the Carefree Melody and means you don’t have to defeat Nightmare King Grimm.

This DLC is far smaller in comparison to the other three and features smaller updates like quality-of-life fixes. However, it did include one new boss in the Hive Knight. Luckily, if you’ve already fully upgraded your character, this fight really isn’t going to be much of a challenge. Travel all the way through the updated Hive area to find and slay this boss.

Hollow Knight Pantheon

Here we are at the pinnacle at last! The largest and most difficult of the DLC content, and the thing that’s going to challenge you most in your journey through Hallownest.

The percentage points here are tied to the Pantheons, which can be found after finding the Godseeker in the Junk Pit. Use a Simple Key to free the Godseeker and pick up the Godtuner for a free point.

Enter Godhome with the Dream Nail and proceed to the 4 Pantheons. There are actually 5 Pantheons to complete, but for the process of completing the 112% you only need to complete the first 4. Defeating the final Pantheon will give you a new cutscene, however, and is classed as the official ending of the main game.

There are 2 versions of the final ending, depending on whether you’ve given the Godseeker the delicate flower.
